Market Analysis for the Gaming Emulators – Sri Lanka 2021
Along with the rapidly growing IT penetration in Sri Lanka, e-Sport has become a central part of
day-today lives of many Sri Lankans. With this background, the study aims to identify the factors that can
affect on the adaptation of gaming emulators in the Sri Lankan market.
Accordingly, the researcher conducted a secondary data review and identified Public Intention, perceived usefulness, and Perceived easy of use as the three independent variables which affect the adaptation of gaming
emulators. The survey strategy is executed by sending an online questionnaire to 250 respondents, from
which the researcher is able to collect data from 182 respondents. The questionnaire consists of nominal and
ordinal questions to measure demographic and economic factors of respondents while the interval scale
measures the impact of independent variables towards the dependent variable.
The gathered data is analyzed mainly using the Regression analysis and it is identified that all three independent variables are
significantly affecting the dependent variable. However, the Perceived ease of use of a gaming
emulator was identified as the main factor that affects the adaptation of the gaming emulators. Also, it is
identified that the current awareness of LDPlayer is not adequate. Accordingly, it is recommended
to launch an awareness program on LDPlayer, while educating the community about the easy use of gaming
